March Madness 2017: Kentucky meets UCLA in Sweet 16 of NCAA Tournament

Official News ·

What time is the Kentucky-UCLA game?

No. 2 seed Kentucky takes on No. 3 UCLA at approximately 9:39 p.m. ET Friday in Memphis in the South Region.

What channel is the Kentucky-UCLA on?

The Kentucky-UCLA game will be on CBS.

Who is favored to win the Kentucky-UCLA game?

The point spread as of Monday was UCLA -1

No. 2 Kentucky

Coach: John Calipari, eighth year

Overall record: 31-5

Scoring leader: Malik Monk, freshman (20.0)

Rebounding leader: Edrice Adebayo, freshman (8.1)

Assists leader: De'Aaron Fox, freshman (4.6)

Famous non-athlete alum: Ashley Judd, actress

Why Kentucky can win:

The Wildcats have won two hard-fought games to start the tournament. Freshman stars Monk, Adebayo and Fox each bring a unique skill set that makes it impossible for opposing defenses to key on just one man.

Fox's ability to set the tempo while also developing a reliable jump shot makes him an intriguing matchup for Lonzo Ball. UCLA beat Kentucky earlier this season in a track meet. In order to reverse that fate, the Wildcats need to maintain longer possessions to keep it out of the hands of UCLA's explosive offense.

No. 3 UCLA

Coach: Steve Alford, fourth year

Overall record: 31-4

Scoring leader: T.J. Leaf, freshman (16.2)

Rebounding leader: Thomas Welsh, junior (8.7)

Assists leader: Lonzo Ball, freshman (7.6)

Famous non-athlete alum: Ben Stiller, actor

Why UCLA can win:

Though his father has been beyond annoying about it, Ball truly is a special player who has tremendous vision. Despite his ugly shot, he has developed into a consistent shooter who seems to hit shots when it really matters.

The Bruins have a balanced scoring attack with six players averaging in double figures. Leaf is quite possibly the most underrated star freshman in the nation — mainly because he plays second-fiddle to Ball on his own team. He has a throwback post game that can be tough to stop.
