NBA playoffs: Kawhi Leonard 'day to day,' questionable for Game 3

Official News ·

It was easy to say Kawhi Leonard would miss just one game after he injured his left ankle when he came down on Zaza Pachulia's foot in Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals.

He didn't break a bone or tear a ligament or do anything that would seem to be serious, so again it was easy to say he could be back for Game 3.

That's not a definite though, and it absolutely is not a certainty Leonard will play in Game 3 at 9 p.m. ET Saturday night versus the Warriors.

Leonard has been listed as questionable for Game 3 for the San Antonio Spurs.

"It's still not ready," he told reporters Friday. "It's just questionable for tomorrow, I could be feeling way better, but we'll see tomorrow."

This will be the first home game of the series for the Spurs, and they have certainly shown this postseason they can win at home without Leonard as they handed the Rockets a 39-point loss in Game 6 of the Western Conference Semifinals.

But those were the Rockets. The Spurs are playing the Warriors now. They will need their star, but he is not a guarantee to suit up in this game or in any subsequent games in the playoffs for that matter.

Leonard was named first-team All-NBA on Thursday.
